"Armadura I e II", Gold-plated brass, 2024

Grief creates unfillable holes and voids, and I keep finding ways to (try to) fill them.
Like an ancient river that flows day after day and is always there —nourishing generations, reflecting the sky when the sun shines, stirring up all the accumulated mud and silt when a storm hits. It is always there, sometimes fuller, denser, and more present, sometimes just passing by. For several days, it beautifully composes the entire surrounding landscape, with the wisdom of one who flows slowly to always arrive there.
I create a fortress to structure: a custom-made brass armor to hold the guts of mourning, and which, in the work forged in fire, shines like a mirror. It blinds the reader, protects the writer. Or reflects the beauty that Narcissus insists on seeing.
